RLC Museum Collection

The museum conserves and displays all forms of objects relating to The Royal Logistic Corps, its forming corps and their predeccessors.  The forming corps were: The Royal Corps of Transport; The Royal Army Ordnance Corps; The Royal Pioneer Corps; The Army Catering Corps; The Postal and Courier Service of the Royal Engineers.

Our collection includes uniforms, badges, medals, weapons and equipment as well as fine and decorative arts.  We have a small collection of vehicles which are kept in an offsite store, the exception being Field Marshal Montgomery’s Rolls Royce which is on display in the museum.

When the RLC Museum was opened in 1995, the majority of the collections from the regimental museums of The Royal Corps of Transport and The Royal Army Ordnance Corps Museum were combined.  This was joined by a small number of objects from the Royal Pioneer Corps Museum, along with a selection from the Army Catering Corps.

The Museums collection is continuously growing as we have continued to collect objects from the forming corps as well as the RLC.

The medal collection of the Royal Army Service Corps/Royal corps of Transport is held at the HQ RLC Officers’ mess. However a number of RASC/RCT medal groups are on loan to the museum for display.  The medal collection of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps is held at the HQ RLC Sergeants’ mess.  Both collections are available to view by appointment only. Please contact the museum for further details.
